The Friends of Eugene Public Library celebrated another successful year on Saturday, May 21, at the annual Volunteer Party, held at the Creswell home of Friends president Jenny Jonak. The get-together recognized all those hard-working volunteers who put on the annual book sales and run the Second Hand Prose book store -- and made it possible for the Friends group to contribute $100,000 to the Eugene Public Library. That money supports such library programs as summer reading for children and teens and children’s story hour, as well as adult programs.
Also, at the party, Maria and Delmar Storment, this year’s Honored Friends, were applauded for their decades of contributions.
2011 Officers and Board of Directors were elected at the Annual General Membership meeting, May 17, 2011. President Jenny Jonak gave a report of the year's activities.

JUNE 18 SALE MAKES MYSTERY LOVERS HAPPY!
A good crowd went away pleased because both hard covers and paperbacks were priced at $1.00. Proceeds total almost $1,750.00. Included in that total were many VHS videos from the EPL collection retired by the Library. Many thanks to the great volunteer crew who hauled box after box into the Bascom-Tykeson Room at the Downtown Library; set up for the sale; staffed the sale; and helped clean up at the end.
