Join in a beloved local tradition and shop for a good cause at the Friends of Eugene Public Library’s giant Book Sale on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12 at the Lane Events Center Performance Hall. The benefit runs 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.
Shoppers can browse thousands of gently used and like-new books, most at the bargain price of $2. Choices include fiction and nonfiction in paperback and hardcover, all genres, recent bestsellers, and rare and specialty books, DVDs, audiobooks, music books, music CDs, puzzles, novelties and a large selection of children’s books will also be for sale.
All major credit cards are accepted as well as cash (no checks). Admission and parking are free. Organizers recommend bringing a bag or box to carry purchases. Members of the Friends of Eugene Public Library will be offered an early admission opportunity. To join the Friends, visit our Membership page.
Proceeds from this all-volunteer project help support Eugene Public Library. Funds go to purchasing books and other items for borrowing, Summer Reading gift books for children and teens, and events and activities for all ages from story times to job searching.
The book sale is the Friends of Eugene Public Library’s major fundraiser each year. More than 400 volunteers work on the event, many year-round. For more information, contact Eugene Public Library at 541-682-5450 or visit eugene-or.gov/library.
Note to shoppers about entry times
If you come to the Book Sale after noon on Saturday, or anytime on Sunday, you can walk right in. Or if you want to be among the very first to enter, here are two ways to do that:

Members’ early entry to the Giant Book Sale will take place between 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11th, 2026. Please expect a queue if you arrive early.
Only current dues-paying members of the Friends of the Eugene Public Library will be approved for early entry.
Your membership allows entry for one guest. Children under 16 may enter with members.
To be considered current, your membership on Zeffy should be listed as “active” for the dates of the Book Sale, April 11-12, 2026. If your membership has expired, please renew online.
Sign up online for a membership with Friends of Eugene Public Library using our membership platform, Zeffy.
If you are a member of the Friends, just show up to join the member queue on Saturday morning! We will confirm your membership at the door. You can optionally bring your digital Zeffy membership card. You must be a current (as of April 11-12, 2026) dues-paying member to receive early entry access.
Membership is not required to shop our sale! Everyone is welcome to join the regular general admission queue at the main entrance on Saturday, where doors open at 9 a.m. For those who prefer not to wait in line to shop, you can visit anytime after 12 a.m. on Saturday or anytime on Sunday to walk right into the sale.
